I hate secrets. This has been a long one, and it’ll be around for a while yet but – so much has been happening.

We have a two hour set. It’s all arranged, rehearsed (instrumentally) and whilst faithful to the original it isn’t tribute. It’s a re-working of some well-known tracks, with the guys who helped put them together, which is very exciting. Our only missing link at the moment is our vocalist – and the news is we have some tryouts coming up, the first being in about a week’s time.

We’re also multi-tracking some of our rehearsal takes over the next month or so, with pre-production in mind (something to give the sound guys to work on) and I’ll be moving some patches onto a bigger keys rig for real live work instead of just rehearsal.

Quite separately from the “Secret Band”, I have a side project doing a new version of a song that’s coming along well. My good friend Brian is providing Guitars and we’re in the studio this week to get Guitar tracks down, with maybe some vocals as well if there’s time.

Finally, I have about two-thirds of a new album sketched out as a collaboration project – but my writing partner for that has to launch another album before we can knuckle down and finish it off.

Add to this – performing with Headlong, with The Life of Brian band, with a new funky, jazzy, but still quite rocky band that’s doing some really tasty covers (female vox) and quite possibly working up a nice rock set with friends Darren, Andy, and Benjy (following a recent party gig that went well) …

So – quiet, not performing much, but musically rushed off my feet.
